Kali Tibba

Story behind Chail

Chail, once the summer capital of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala is a beautiful little town at an almost equal distance from both Shimla(44kms) and Solan(45kms). The story behind the creation of this town is also very interesting.
Maharaja Bhupinder Singh was insulted and expelled from Shimla by Lord Kitchener. Because of this, he decided to build a summer retreat better than Shimla for himself. He did a great work building this peaceful place with many tourist attractions.
