Out of the two routes to Spiti, we will take you through the Shimla route which covers more of the wonderful Spiti Valley. Some popular destinations of Kinnaur like Kalpa, Sangla & Chitkul will also be covered in this trip.
This 9 Nights / 10 Days Spiti tour itinerary covers most of the Spiti like our popular Spiti circuit Tour. The only difference is that instead of completing the circuit via Manali, the tour will return to Shimla via Kinnaur and then final drop at Delhi/ Chandigarh. This route is also possible when the Manali route via Rohtang Pass gets closed.

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Delhi – Shimla
Today our vehicle will pick you early in the morning and take you towards Shimla. In the evening you’ll reach Shimla & checkin to the hotel.
Day 2: Shimla – Sarahan
After breakfast head towards Sarahan via Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur etc. Sarahan is a beautiful village near Rampur. Overnight stay at hotel in Sarahan.
Things to do in Sarahan:
• Visit the Bhimakali Temple which is one of the Shaktipeethas.
• Explore the peaceful village, bird sanctuary and old palace area.
• Shrikhand Mountain range view.
Day 3: Sarahan – Karcham – Kalpa
After breakfast checkout from Sarahan and you will be taken towards Kalpa. Just a few minutes after Jeori you will see the “Welcome to Kinnaur board” and the iconic hanging hills over the road. Reach Kalpa in the evening and overnight stay at hotel in Kalpa.
Day 4: Kalpa – Khab – Nako Lake – Tabo
Wake up to the morning view in the town of Kalpa. Today we will head towards Tabo via Nako village. We will stop at Nako village where you can see the famous Nako lake. After a short halt in Nako village head towards Tabo.
The Tabo Monastery is one of the famous monasteries in Spiti Valley. Tabo village is also famous for its caves (Tabo caves) which can be seen from the village. These caves are used by the monks for meditation and other purposes. Overnight stay in Tabo.
Day 5: Tabo to Kaza
Today after enjoying local sightseeing in Tabo village, head towards Kaza via the famous Dhankar monastery. Dhankar monastery is situated above the Dhankar village. It is located on the top of a cliff which gives it an intense look. Spend some time exploring the Dhankar village & monastery. Head towards Kaza for overnight stay.
Day 6: Kaza – Langza – Komic – Hikkim – Kibber – Key Monastery – Kaza
Wake up in the beautiful town of Kaza and get ready to explore the nearby villages of Langza (The fossil village), Komic, Hikkim & Key monastery. Each of these villages are famous for special reasons.
Langza is known as the Fossil village of India due to the abundance of marine fossils found here. Hikkim claims to have the worlds highest post office. While Komic is the worlds highest village to be connected with a motorable road.
You can also visit Kibber which is famous for the ibex and Snow leapord sightings.
Kye monastery is one of most famous monasteries of Spiti Valley. It is one of the main centre of Budhist learnings in the valley. After sightseeing at the Key monastery, head towards Kaza for the evening stay.
Because of the unpredictable weather in Sep End – Oct, Rohtang pass and Chandratal is blocked due to heavy snowfall, so we also have a backup plan ready from Day 7 onwards.
Day 7: Kaza to Chandra tal Lake
Today after breakfast head towards the famous Chandratal Lake. Chandra Tal lake is situated at a distance of 55 km from Kaza and is said to be the source of the Chandra river. Enjoy some quality time near the lake. Camping is not allowed near the lake so the overnight stay would be 2 kms below the lake at our Campsite.
Day 8: Chandratal – Manali
Early morning after breakfast head towards Manali via the infamous Rohtang Pass. On the way to Manali, depending on the time left you can also spend some time at the Solang Valley. Overnight stay at hotel in Manali.
Day 9: Manali local sightseeing
Today enjoy breakfast in the beautiful town of Manali and head for a local sightseeing of the town. Today you can visit the Hadmiba Devi temple, Van Vihar, Club House, Tibetian Monastery, Manali Mall road etc. Overnight stay at hotel in Manali.
Day 10: Manali to Delhi departure.
After breakfast at the hotel, checkout and head towards Delhi for evening drop. Thank you for choosing us.
Day 7: Kaza to Mud (Pin Valley)
In case Chandratal Lake is not open due to weather/road conditions, you will be taken towards the Pin valley. Mudh is the last village in the Pin valley which is also the base camp for many treks in the Pin valley. Overnight stay at hotel/Homestay in Pin Valley.
Day 8: Mudh – Attargo – Tabo – Sangla
After breakfast spend some quality time in the village of Mudh. In the afternoon head towards Tabo via Attargo. Overnight stay in Sangla.
Day 9: Sangla – Chitkul Sightseeing – Shimla
Today early in the morning enjoy sightseeing in Sangla valley and Chitkul. Chitkul is the last village on the Indo – Tibet Border. After sightseeing in the morning, head towards Shimla for overnight stay.
Day 10: Shimla to Delhi departure.
After breakfast at the hotel, checkout and head towards Delhi for evening drop. Thank you for choosing us.

Terms & Additional Information:
- The Backup plan will be applicable depending the road/weather conditions & weather forecasts in Spiti. The final route will be confirmed before the tour.
- If any changes are needed after the trip start due to bad weather, then extra cost might be applicable for cancellations of bookings (wherever applicable).
- We require 5-6 people minimum to run a trip however this does not need to be all from one group. Please feel free to book with any number of people and we’ll try to match numbers from other groups to meet the minimum requirement.
- In case minimum number of persons is not met, we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the trip. In that case any advance made by the guest will be refunded.
- Charges for Overnight journey if needed due to road conditions, traffic etc are extra. It would be around Rs 500-800 per person.
- In case any rerouting/extra stay is needed depending on the road conditions from Kaza to Manali, extra charges will be applicable.
Payment Policy
- You can block a seat by depositing a small amount of Rs 1000/- (not refundable if the client cancels).
- 50 % of the booking advance is needed 20 days before the tour starting date in order to confirm the tour.
- 100 % of the payment needs to be made before the start of the tour.
- In the event we cancel the tour due to minimum no of pax not met, all the advance including the Rs 1000/- booking amount will be refunded.
- In the event the client cancels the tour, Cancellation charges are applicable as per the cancellation policy below.
Refund Policy
Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive the email reply within one business day, please call the office immediately. We will not be responsible if the email fail to reach us. All Refunds claims in case of cancellation would be processed based on the Cancellation Policy.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation of tour/travel plan/bookings due to any reasons please inform us in writing (info@beinghimalayan.com). Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive cancellation request in writing. The cancellation charges would vary depending on the time period left prior to arrival and it would be as follows:
- All purchases are subject to re-confirmation within one business day after purchase, customers will be fully refunded if the orders cannot be confirmed.
- Cancellation requests received 20 days prior to arrival will incur a penalty of 50% of the Tour/Service cost as cancellation charges.
- Cancellation requests received 10 hours prior to arrival will incur a penalty of 100% of the Tour/Service cost as cancellation charges.
- Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
- Group Tours/Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
